General notices

General notices let you pin persistent announcements to your status page. Use them for policy updates, scheduled changes, or any information that isn't tied to a specific incident or maintenance window.

Add a general notice

Login to your Instatus at instatus.com/login then choose your status page.

Navigate to the Issues tab and click Add a general notice.

  • Title: A short headline for the notice.
  • Message: A detailed description in markdown.
  • Collapse this notice: Optionally collapse the notice so it takes up less space on your status page.

Click Add notice, and it will appear on your public status page right away.

Your general notice is now live on your status page.

Manage notices

From the dashboard you can:

  • Search: Find notices by title or content.
  • Edit: Update the title, message, or collapsed state at any time.
  • Delete: Remove one or multiple notices at once.
  • Export: Download your notices as a CSV file.

How notices appear on your status page

  • Expanded notices show inline alongside active incidents and maintenances.
  • Collapsed notices are grouped behind a collapsible header so visitors can expand them when needed.
  • Notices are sorted by creation date, newest first.
