## Frequently Asked Questions

**Do you offer discounts?**
Yes. When you pay for a year up front, you'll get three months free. Also if you're a non-profit organization or an open-source project, you can email us to get a free Pro account.

**Can we migrate our status page from Statuspage?**
Yes, please try https://instatus.com/switch-from-statuspage which allows you to import your status page content!

**Can we cancel at any time?**
Yes, you can cancel at any time. If you paid for a yearly plan, we'll refund any unused months.

**What payment methods do you accept?**
We process payments through Paddle, so you can pay with all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Business and yearly customers can also pay by wire transfer or ACH on request — just email support@instatus.com.

**Is billing per team or per project?**
Billing is per project (status page), so you can pick the right plan for each page independently. The exception is Business — one Business subscription covers up to 3 pages of any type under your workspace. If you need more than 3 pages on one contract, talk to us about Enterprise.

**Do you offer a free trial?**
Yes. Every paid plan ships with a free trial — 7 days on Pro, 14 days on Select and Private Pro, and 30 days on Business. You can cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged. And the Starter plan is free forever.

**Can I get a custom quote, annual contract, or PO invoicing?**
Yes. Business and Enterprise customers can get custom yearly invoicing, purchase orders, multi-page contracts, custom DPAs and SLAs, and bespoke terms. Reach out at https://instatus.com/contact and we'll send you a quote.

**Why is Instatus so much cheaper than the alternatives?**
We're profitable and founder-led. We've also built Instatus on a stack that's genuinely cheap to run: status pages are cached at the edge, so a traffic spike during an incident costs almost nothing to serve, and all our monitoring and uptime data lives in ClickHouse — a column-store that handles billions of checks far more efficiently than a typical SQL database.
