Kind regards, Network Platforms - **NLD Circuits Flapping - 27 Oct 2026 12:16** (RESOLVED, 2026-10-27T10:16:00.000Z): Good day, Please note that a number of our Layer 2 circuits on the National Long Distance network were interrupted this afternoon between 12:16 and 12:24\. The cause was a partial outage on our upstream NLD provider's transport, affecting the paths between Cape Town and Johannesburg and between Cape Town and Durban. What happened Two of the long-distance paths carrying these circuits were partially impaired by the provider. The impairment was one-directional: traffic from one end was being dropped while traffic in the opposite direction continued to pass. Because of this, the equipment at one end kept reporting the circuits as healthy, which kept the signalling sessions that build these circuits (LDP) tied to the affected paths. The circuits therefore timed out and were rebuilt once the provider's path recovered, instead of moving onto an alternate path. All affected circuits are restored and operating normally. The cause of is still under investigation with the provider. Outage details Started: 12:16 - 27/10/2026 Restored: 12:24 - 27/10/2026 No action is required from you.
