# Manage your components

Components are the parts of your service shown on your status page, such as your website, mobile app or API, each with its own status and optional uptime history.

## How do I add a component?

Log in at [instatus.com/login](https://dashboard.instatus.com/login), choose your status page, go to **Components** and click **Add component**. Enter a name, pick or create a group, choose whether to show historical uptime, and save.

Once you click it, the "Add a component" form will appear. Here you can enter:

- Component name.
- Component group.
- Whether to show historical uptime.

Click **add component**, and it will be added to your page.

Component is now added! 🚀

## How do I edit a component or change its status?

Click the component or its edit button to change the name, status, group or uptime display, then click **Save**.

Then you can:

- Edit the name.
- Edit the status.
- Edit the group.
- Edit displaying historical uptime.

After you're done with edits, click the **Save** button.

Component is now updated! 🍻

## How do I archive or restore a component?

Click the bin icon and confirm with **ARCHIVE**; the **RESTORE** button brings it back later.

An archived component will not appear on the status page,
it will only appear when it's affected by an active incident or maintenance or it's status is not operational.

## How do I create a component group?

A component group is created from the component form, in one of two ways:

1. Add a component and select **create new group** and enter group's name.
2. Edit a component and select **create new group** and enter group's name.

Group is now added! 🎉

## How do I re-order components and groups?

Hover over a component or group, grab the re-order handle on the right and drag it into place.

## How do I delete a group?

Move or delete every component in the group and it disappears from your status page; there is no explicit delete.

## Can I show third-party services on my status page?

Yes. You can add third party services you depend on (like AWS or Stripe) to your status page. Learn how in [Third party components](https://instatus.com/help/status-page/third-party-components).
